I’m still haunted by the fairly tale of the lady whose nose got turned into a sausage and then a fox just ate it :S
Those are the parts that I remember anyways
I remember that one where a girl who didn’t want to dirty her shoes put the loaf of bread she was carrying into she puddle she wanted to cross (???) and when she walked on the bread she got sucked down all way to hell.
Well, as a German, I would advise that she be should be cursed so that hair is constantly growing out of her mouth. Haha. The end.
This shit fucked my head up in high school. As an American studying German, I did not expect fairy tales to be so … This.
Don’t suck your thumbs children.
Ah i remember these stories, my grandma read them to me when i was a child. I thought “they are so unhinged, maybe them being unhinged is the point”.

Classic German comedy
Okay it has been enough time:
German stories are the wurst.
My daughter is 3 and she loves Struwwelpeter, can even recite most of it. Same with Max und Moritz.
BTW here’s a version with happy end: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DqxT6bxngF8
