Spirit Halloween is like an Eldritch being that consumes all failed business spaces at the end of their lives.

There seems to be a size heirarchy to it.

Supermarkets become either a gym or a Goodwill.

      Mid-size businesses become Spirit Halloween.

Small businesses just get replaced with “hobby” businesses where it’s obviously someone with money cosplaying as a storekeeper selling scrapbooking suppkies or country decor items.

The historic main street in my town, the one they’ve bouged up with brown street signs on black posts rather than the standard DOT green signs on galvanized poles, there’s like 10 or 12 storefronts down there that play host to an endless list of short lived businesses practically all run by women in their mid-40s with nothing to do. Yoga studios, antique stores, clothing boutiques, crepe restaurants, tea shops, basically none last two years.

Conservatives: I’m fed up with all these woke businesses! People that sell basic necessities shouldn’t be political!

    Also conservatives:

I’m sort of intrigued how they got the startup funding.

You’re building a retail business around a meme. Even in the best possible case, you have a couple years of relevance to pay down the debt.

It’s brick-and-mortar, with real inventory, not like just online drop-shipping stuff silkscreened on demand, so the overhead is pretty high.

If a bank financed any of this nonsense, I want to know so we can send the FDIC Shock Troops in to find out what other stupid shit they’re doing with depositor money.

The business model is clearly going to be selling conservative aligned merch. The name of the store doesn’t pin them to Biden.

There’s one of these, up my street, that started as a MAGA themed store, then they moved to more being Trump worshiping type products, then they promoted 2020 campaign stuff, then Let’s Go Brandon, and back to 2024 campaign stuff. I don’t even think they even like or support him, but are capitalizing on how his followers act in a fan-club manner and buy up all the merchandise.

Even in the best possible case, you have a couple years of relevance to pay down the debt.

You pick another meme, reimage the store (ideally keeping the brand), and push the new products.

I can’t imagine how this one on the photo could get into any other meme while keeping its brand. But the meme part is not the stupid one.

Shit, it’s real and they have a website. Also, they lie about printing their shirts in the US. I’d link their site but lemmy isn’t big enough to DDOS it and I don’t want to provide them entertainment and hope in the form of a sudden rush of visitors.

It kinda was a sports thing lol

idk if you actually looked up it’s origins, but for anyone curious there was a NASCAR winner “Brandon” I forgot his last name, but he was being interviewed after the race and everyone in the background was shouting “fuck Joe Biden” (because they’re sheep, wtf does Biden have to do with anything in that moment?) so the interviewer possibly trying to cover for the network since you can’t exactly go cursing on there says (paraphrasing) “they must be saying let’s go Brandon!”

Naturally MAGA morons took that as “ThE mAiNsTrEaM mEdIa iS cEnSoRiNg Us! ThEy’Re CoVeRiNg FoR BiDeN! FaKe NeWs!” So now let’s go Brandon means fuck Joe Biden and also hints to msm manipulation.

It’s also a perfect example of how they NEED to be part of a tribe. That phrase includes you in the tribe if you use it with others that “know.”

Maybe lives outside the US. Or just not living maybe in a “battleground” state like Ohio, Michigan or Pennsylvania.

If you live in a solidly Democrat part of a state that’s also solidly Democrat, it’s possible you’re like double-landlocked away from this sea of politically-supercharged excrement. In areas where most of the political campaign money ends up, even if you don’t want to pay attention, you’re force-fed this shit wherever you look.

I’m sorry for those who find themselves the direct target of republican propaganda. Trapped like labrats in a hellish social experiment of overexposure to nonstop toxic messaging, billboards and robocalls where “Biden’s coming to tAkE yEr GuNz!” or “Kamala Harris hAz TwO mOmMiEs” or whatever, on top of what’s already on the national infotainment industry.

There is store between where my mom lives, and St. Augustine, in Florida that is called the MAGA store, or MAGA headquarters, or something like that. IIRC it’s off of A1A.

Some nascar racer named Brandon won a big race. During the post race interview a chant of “Fuck Joe Biden” went up in the crowd.

The interviewer said they were chanting “Let’s go Brandon”. So dipshits all over started using that phrase as an anti-Biden slogan. This is also why there’s a “Dark Brandon” meme for occasions where Biden trolls the Republicans.

It was something about a NASCAR event where the crowd started shouting “Fuck Biden” and one of the announcers covered by saying it sounded like “Let’s go Brandon”.

Oh yeah I didn’t think about how the nickname didn’t exist in 2020. Wild someone would have a store like this for the midterms, Biden wasn’t even running.
