Would a USB-C to headphone Jack converter open up your options? You can buy one with usb pass through to charge and listen at the same time. I really wanted to keep my headphone jack but I’ve gone to Bluetooth and it’s pretty good tbh

I kinda want a BIC lighter made of tungsten just for this pun.
Thanks - 22.1 is getting installed today.
Thanks - I’m hoping to get all my household machines switched over, maybe look at a HomeServer install.
If all goes well then my parents and extended family are getting upgrades from Win10. I set them all up with decent laptops in the last 5-15 years with SSDs, wifi6/7 and maxed out memory upgrades. If it wasn’t for TPM2 required for Win11 and Win10 EOL things sure would be different.
Perfect - thank you!
Ok - thank you, I think I’m going to be learning a lot in the next month. I last used RHEL for work about 5 years ago and it was a really niche application, I didn’t really explore the OS too much, and OS updates were not my responsibility.
Is there a resource where you can see the bugs/fixes left to resolve or an ETA? Not seen anything saying 4-5 days, I just downloaded 22.1 and I’m going to do a final backup this weekend.
I’ll probably just install .1 and have a play then reinstall .2 from fresh and transfer my data.
Thanks that was a really detailed explanation!
I’m a bit Google shy since I was looking for dinosaur action figures for one of the nephews and one of my asshat friends suggested BadDragon do extra large models that are really good… let’s just say my advertising profile took a really weird turn, and has not fully recovered.
Can a millennial get some definitions?
I would Google, but you have to be careful what ends up in your search history and global advertising profile these days

It’s the equivalent of $16.50 a month where I live and that is not an insignificant proportion of my monthly income. The adverts are constantly repeating and often for products and services that are actual scams. I firmly believe as soon as enough people pay… we’ll have to pay more or they will show us a smaller number of “specially selected” ads.

What phone do you have?

Me! I need that. I use thermal imaging to fix things from plumbing, cars, to circuit boards. I use it to see if my dog is still at the end of the garden at night and to find draughts in the home. Thermal imaging is useful AF.
That’s fair enough, I had a headphone to lightening adapter permanently plugged into my headphones for about a year… I went through a pair of headphones about once every 2 years, the cable would get snagged on or trapped in something eventually. Had AirPods for 5 years… I’d say in another year I’d probably be at the break-even point from an e-waste perspective, but I’d probably have to keep them for another 15 years to make up the price difference.
