If this is enabled by default it’ll certainly be needed, especially in cases like multitasking.

Aah yeah Nvidia still has some stuff to work out on Linux, but fortunately for me I’m running AMD. Hopefully the Nvidia support gets better soon.
Bazzite has been astoundingly good for me. The only games that have issues are usually those with kernel-level anti-cheat and tbh I wouldn’t play those anyways if I was running Windows (although I understand that’s a deal breaker for some).
Support for Bazzite is fantastic too. Kyle and the rest of the folks on Discord are amazing!
Or just use Bazzite. Already supports multiple handhelds, desktop, and you can have the same exact experience of opening into big picture like the Steamdeck if you’d like.
I switched to Bazzite about 1/2 a year ago and haven’t looked backed. Better performance, more stable, I can do dev work that I’m used to without WSL and such.
The best part is I have absolutely 0 incentive to play games that come with a kernel-level rootkit anticheat too!
I thought Emacs was an OS? 😏
Ooh good ol’ Theo. The guy is quite something…
Weird. I use Bazzite which is off of Kinoite and the upgrade from 39 -> 40 was seamless.
I run PopOS on my T450s. Runs like a dream, but probably not considered 'lightweight .
Ooh I know, but there’s also a few games here and there where anti-cheat doesn’t work on Linux. Yes I know dual-boot like you said but I’m too lazy to switch between both.
I was running Bazzite for several months before I switched back to Windows. Unfortunately for me I have a broadcom wifi adapter, it kept disconnecting every 10-15 minutes, and that doesn’t bode well for gaming. Outside of that I really enjoyed using it! At least my steamdeck counts towards usage of Linux…
Edit: also steam having to download pre-cached shaders almost every time I started up my computer was kind of annoying. I know you can disable that, but then you’re leaving performance on the table iirc.
Tell them about Arch Linux.
It’s a constant cat and mouse game with Google. You can use Magisk with Zygisk enabled, Shamiko, and Play Integrity Fix (there’s also a few other combos that work) to get baking apps to work. I have no issues on my rooted Pixel 8 Pro, but it’s always a gamble if Google updates their end and then you get locked out of Google Wallet for a day once you update your fixes (not banking apps).
So I have multiple YouTube accounts under the same email. I tried to important my subscriptions but it takes them from the wrong account. Is there a way to select accounts?
Not sure how the CPU compares, but I’m still running a Pixel 2 XL and the only real issue I have is the lack of RAM. CPU speed is no issue here.
I haven’t really seen many of any issues but your mileage may vary.
Obsidian is quite nice. No Boilerplate did a nice video on some of the cool capabilities of it.
Ooh I understand that it’s for AI, I just meant that more RAM would certainly help in this case.
