  • If you claim you have a religious for needing them back (reunification being pretty common, as in, you need them so you can be buried with them) then they will run their tests, and give them back to you if they’re not a hazard.

My brother used this to keep his gallbladder, and a friend of a friend kept her foot after diabetes took it. Both examples in Tennessee. I don’t know if it matters which state you’re in, but I’m positive the country would probably make a difference.

Plus, I think it’s funny the idea of some medical person somewhere trying to square their incredibly narrow view of religion with a trans woman being so devout in their own faith as to be concerned about burial practices potentially decades in the future, given the stereotype that everyone LGBTQ+ is an evil atheist.

  • It’s so wild the wrong ideas that float around about cops and medical personnel. “If you’re a cop you have to tell me” and “if I tell them I did drugs they have to tell the cops”

I really do tell all the interesting people in my life “tell cops nothing, medics everything” and it’s saved a few butts. My mom is the one who initially told me that. She doesn’t necessarily approve of drug use, but made it clear to us growing up that if we ever did something and had to go to the doctor, we needed to tell them everything, and they would always keep our secret, but always lie about it to the cops if they were involved. I love my mom. Lol. She’s awesome.

  • Not who you asked, but I use podbean and have recently started using antennapod. Both are really good, but antennapod is open source from what I understand, and I’ve been able to find more podcasts on it. Only gripes with it are that you can’t rate the podcasts on it, and you can’t set it play all episodes of a certain podcast automatically. You have to add them to a queue manually and play from the queue. Other than that it’s absolutely fantastic.

  • I used high end android for a long time. The note series, mainly. When I had to step away from that, I switched to LG. I fucking loved LG. They were awesome. Half the price, and damn good.

Since they’ve stopped, I’ve had the pixel 6, and an A53. The pixel 6 was glitchy AF, and Google won’t allow HDMI over USB, which is a major use case for me, and the A53 just sort of sucks.

I miss high end android. :( but I won’t switch to iOS. I hate how locked down it is, and I’ve never liked the feel of the OS. I’m considering the pixel again, but no HDMI is really fucking with me. :(

  • It’s been a while since I had the phone, but iirc it would drop wifi constantly, Bluetooth would occasionally and randomly cause the phone to seize up and you had to do a hard reset, you could only have a Bluetooth device connected to it alone, if the device was also connected to something else no audio would play from either device (I think that had a work arojnd in dev option, but i dont recall what it was), the screen would go unresponsive if you had youtube playing in background mode, and a handful of other things.

Most of them were worth it just for the Hold For Me feature, though. Lol. God I miss that.

  • I switched from a pixel 6 to an A53. I lease my phones through T-Mobile with jump on demand, so I can switch pretty often if I want to (I hate doing it. I like finding a decent phone and sticking to it), and I’m thinking about switching again. The A53 is super laggy, and it crashes frequently, as well as a weird thing with WiFi becoming super slow unless I restart

Any idea if the 54 is better? I’d like to stick to Samsung if possible, because I have a Samsung tablet and they work well together. I really miss LG. :(
