I appreciate Google taking Wear OS design seriously, especially regarding design cohesiveness, but I do wonder if forcing black backgrounds in every case is a good idea. It looks better in the menu, but I prefer that media UI with a colour splash.
The lack of any distinguishing elements in Wear OS apps makes them feel more like “menus for your phone but on your wrist” than “actual apps for your watch”.
