In a recent filing at the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals, ISP Cox maintains that DMCA subpoenas don’t apply to Internet providers. Several movie studios hope to convince the court otherwise, as that would strengthen their piracy enforcement efforts, making it easier to identify online pirates. According to Cox, however, Congress clearly excluded ISPs from this legal ‘shortcut’.

    What made me realize it’s time to be stealthy again was Nintendo starting to go after FUCKING ANYTHING they think they could construe as unlawful in regards to emulators. I’m still pretty convinced they’re net losing money because myself and other folks won’t buy this stuff we can’t access in a DRM free way (whether or not other people might phrase it that way, DRM is what causes all these headaches).
