So you know Papa Swift paid for some studio time. Its not abuse at all, its wealth and privilege to pursue what you want.
We had cheap laptops and USB microphones back then. I had a set up with digital audio converter, a couple mics going to laptop set up was about $200-$250 w/out laptop and I had a separate boss br-532 8 track recorder I picked up used for like $300. I’m sure if I was more frugal I could’ve gone a lot cheaper.
