Nothing lives in cities naturally. Cities themselves just aren’t natural.

Where I come from, outdoors cats really don’t have a particularly long shelf life in cities and towns. Either they get hit by a car, or they wander to the forest and find something stronger than them

    Invasive where?

Everyone keeps saying they’re invasive, but like… They’ve been around for thousands of years and were around before we started domesticating them (or they started domesticating us, I guess).

And yes, they kill birds, but then other wild animals also kill other animals.

And yes I realize you’re on .ca so probably Canadian, but my point is, everyone seems to assume everyone on the Internet is North American. Plenty of us live in Europe, where cats are sort of a naturally occurring phenomenon.

I’d just recommend Pop!_OS then. NVidia drivers can come preinstalled if you need them (not that it’s super hard to install on Ubuntu) and no Snap bullshit - anything you install via apt uses a deb, instead of sneakily installing a snap. Flatpak still remains an option and you CAN install snaps if you want to. COSMIC as it is now, is GNOME reconfigured a bit to be a bit keyboard-friendlier and will soon be replaced by COSMIC the brand new desktop environment. Otherwise it’s fairly similar to Ubuntu.

Also, Kubuntu or Mint are Ubuntu with an UI that is more familiar to someone coming from Windows. They work more or less the same.

It could also be a gay venue or something.

But also Ian McKellen is quite public about being gay, isn’t he? So essentially if you’ve ever fantasized about being topped by Gandalf… The chance is small, but not zero.

  • So what they do is they tell you you won a free lunch (the irony is not lost on me) from like a raffle or something, which you can claim at location x at time y. Aaaaand then it turns out the free lunch is actually a marketing event where they make you (and the people who come with you) barely any food, while extolling the virtues of their ridiculously overpriced products.

I’d just gone through it with my grandma who’s luckily a moderately sharp pencil and invited me and my mom along. We just outright refused to buy anything and ate the cookies and shit (they were demonstrating a cookie maker lmao, made like 3 cookies). But my ex’s mom went there I think either alone or with someone who yes-manned her into spending money on the pan. And I think she did it in installments too.

This was like 10 years ago. It’s a proper scam, idk if they still do it, but I bet they do.

And yes, the pan was excellent, it came with a removable handle and a kinda cone shaped lid that had a hole in the center, which was useful (lets humidity out, but fat doesn’t splatter everywhere). But I was still flabbergasted to hear someone would spend 300€ on a pan. In like 2015 or 2016 Estonia. Her net salary was under 1000€ a month.

  • They used to have pretty good pricing. The compact versions of the Z lineup especially. Of course, they also somehow managed to have the most fragile screens in the business at that time.

But that was also a wildly different time. You’d go to your phone company’s website and see Apple, Samsung, Sony, LG, HTC, ZTE, Huawei, Motorola and a few others. Now LG, HTC, ZTE, Huawei, Sony and Motorola aren’t even on the list anymore - even though some of those companies still make devices, some companies just won’t bother selling them anymore. It’s just Apple, Google, Samsung, Xiaomi and… I’m surprised that OnePlus even makes the list.

Now I can still get Asus, POCO or Honor from a 3rd party retailer which is fine, I don’t want to give Telia any more money anyway, but most people get their phone with a discount from their phone company on contract… So companies other than the “big 5” aren’t even being considered. Plus I don’t even know where to get a Sony phone. Even the company formerly known as Sony Center here sells iPhones, but not Sony phones (they do still sell a lot of other Sony things of course)
