It was confirmed to be a joke in the replies.

This joke is the entire basis of a movie
So uhh… you single?
Im a hard-core yapper so if thats too wordy then we probably wouldnt work anyway.
I wanted to make it young enough that the OC would be obviously terrible but recent enough that thinking about what was popular at the time wouldnt involve too much research.

23·25 days agoBased on the article it looks like it wasn’t even actually being used for magic reasons anymore.
Wang explained that he originally installed the chip to use in magic routines, but quickly discovered that scanning other people’s phones against his hand “really doesn’t come off super mysterious,” especially since many devices have their RFID readers disabled by default.
Switching to his own phone removed the spectacle entirely, leaving the gimmick without much practical use.
Later:
Wang said he rewrote the chip several times to repurpose it. First, it held a Bitcoin address, which he said never came up in conversation, and later changed it to a link to a meme hosted on Imgur.

I have no issues with doing research studies about the mental health of people in close proximity of pain.
My issue with it is mostly due to the lack of research on the people actually in pain. That study is good but it feels backhanded when the women with endo themselves are being left out of a lot of that study funding.
