Oh I had no idea! I just assumed it was closed source because I had to pay to get the Pro version. Still an app worth paying for though
If you downloaded Slide off of the google playstore, the premium version was paid as a way to help support the dev. If you downloaded it off of F-Droid, or directly from Github, the premium features were free.

It’s copyleft (GPLv3), not permissive, so we do know it’ll continue to be Free Software.

Slide is all I’ve used for so long I can’t even remember different! I don’t go on Reddit anymore, but I’ve been hesitant to actually uninstall Slide. Love to be able to use it here!

Thank you so much! I tried several Reddit apps over the years and Slide was by far my favorite. I used it up until the blackout when I left Reddit for Lemmy.

SLIDE WAS THE BEST! It ran under the radar and the dev was MIA for a long time so I had to switch to Infinity but it was the best app I used for Reddit, soooo pumped to see Slimmey
